Git

Version control for scripts, SQL, and pipeline code — local discipline, then GitHub basics. Practice on your machine.

Beginner14 lessons~7 hours plus a demo

Data work is code: Python jobs, SQL files, Compose stacks. Git is how teams snapshot that work, branch safely, and review changes. This module is the last foundations node before Data Engineering — Apache Airflow is next.

You will install Git, commit locally, use branches and merges, ignore secrets and data files, then learn remotes and pull requests. The site never runs Git for you.

Start here

You need a terminal from Linux Getting Started. Then do this module’s Getting Started — we create ~/dcubes/git-lab and set your local identity.
